To let anyone know, South is going to be on channel 13 around 5:45, I think. Molly told me this today at lunch and didn't post it. So go watch!!!! Support our Panthers!
And the Indiana University Marching Hundred's showcase is less than a month away and this year our high school band is going to be... South!!! The date is November 14th and we'll perform around 1 or 1:30 p.m. in Assembly Hall. I'll have more specifics. But there are 4 or 5 old South members so stop on by for an afternoon of hyjinks and hylarity! :)

Well, that was sad!
I was talking to Kendra on THursday about the upcoming contest, and she said the mall was closed!
You know, the mall
, the mall they've visited I don't know for how many years. Wow, even though I'm not in the band or anything, kinda feel a little nostalgic. I remember helping Allison decide on a homecoming dress, picking up gifts for my pit ladies and hanging in Wal*Mart.
I guess they're switching Malls now. They're going to a "Green Tree" mall or something. Current Mood: nostalgic

Two great show bands, one low (free) price
For those of you who don't know, BHSS Panther Regiment will be performing with the Indiana University Marching Hundred at thier showcase this year. The date it November 14th, 2004 and the time is usually around 2 in the afternoon. It will be in Assembly Hall so it won't be a full show like on the field, but from past expierence it's a great show. I would encourage you to come, it's free and you get two great bands. The Hundred will perform some "stand tunes" as well as tunes from the past season shows. It's a good time and makes lasting memories (when I went to this show my senior year I think, that's when I knew I wanted to be in the Hundred). So maybe I'll see some of you out there.
For more information on the Hundred and their performance schedule try the Hundred Website. Current Mood: nervous

The First Performance
So I went to the game last night and stayed through half-time (but of course left soon after...). Thought I'd share some general impressions of the 'show'.
First off, no marching. The field was basically a mess when they got out there, and this is like the end-of-band-camp performance. They played 2 songs, which of course I don't remember...or shouldn't spell. The feel is the usual groove feel, but more of a swing to it. Nice. There's going to be a drum break as well that they didn't play (I think), and a reprise.
Overall, the music seemed nice, it was the first performance so they were lacking in dynamics. Cody is an awesome drum major! He really sold his stuff. And of course, Kendra rocks
. Next time I go (which probably won't be for a while...$5 is alot in my world), I'm sure it'll be even better.

So here are all the future Band performances for home games:
Friday September 3rd, v. Perry Meridian
Friday September 24th v. Martinsville Senior Night
Friday October 14th v. Decatur Central Homecoming
(every game starts at 7pm at South)
I suggest we meet at 5pm, and get food, then go to the game. I have requested off work for EACH GAME. Since going alone is not a lot of fun, it was wet out, and especially when I don't know anyone who is still in it very well, I stayed home, and baked a cake (homade lemon poppyseed cake!!!). However, as long as someone else is willing to go, I will GLADY go to each of the games. Food is optional before hand, but hey...I'm game!
Everyone else feel free to respond with your preferences. Anyone else is free to come along. Just post and let us know! Spead the word!

I have thought about this fine Friday the 20th evening, and I don't think I should go either. This is my reasoning: I am only planning on going once so why not make it when all 4 of us can go together and the regiment's show is complete and rather awesome. Secondly, I will be getting off work probably around 6:30 so it will be kind of late running over to South and all that good stuff.
Let's go to New York...see CATS. Current Mood: blah

Anyone know how Band Camp's going? Any of my McD's boys seeing the kids during lunch break? Usually Kendra would have told me something, but she got back from LOTS (children
) camp and wouldn't know. Just thinking about them, wondering how Cody's doing as DM. Of course, we all know that Kendra will kick ass as center snare! (I'm so proud).
I think, think there's a competition at Ben Davis or Franklin Central sometime in September, but I'm not
going to swear to the date but I think it's 9/11

I'm not going to make it Friday either.
Ben Graves is getting back from his two months in Europe on Tuesday and he sent me an e-mail saying "lets grab some pizza and hit up the Marching Band". At first I told him that I have plans. But since Sara can't make it Friday, I'm going to go ahead and say yes. I <3 you two (Levi and Jason) like brothers, but I haven't seen Ben in forever
and I really miss my favorite Liberal. I'll probably be at the game, but I'll probably be hanging with Ben and other people.
Honestly, I wouldn't have done this, but I haven't seen him...and I really need to talk to him. And I'm almost sure Melissa will be there and the three of us need to talk.

The 20th Outing
So...everyone joining us on the outing on the 20th (see the last post in this group)...we need to decide where we are getting food. McDonalds is fine with me (even though I work there, and eat it all the time) if that is what people want. So...voice your opinion of what sounds good...if you don't know where, try to pick what (burgers, pizza, etc.). Just so we have an idea where we sitting. The other option we did not mention last time is the all you can eat chinese buffet there by March. It's about $6 or so a person, and thier crab ragoons are awesome. So...cast your "vote" and we'll decide! Current Mood: okay

Friday...well next Friday
I figure this is the best way to organize trips to the football game since leaving notes on umpteen journals gets tedious and a bit hard to organize. So, without further adieu:FOOTBALL GAME ON FRIDAY, AUGUST 20th
It's at South at 7pm and they're playing Arlington (not the cemetery)
So who'se up for going and do we want to meet somewhere before hand? I probably won't get anything to eat, but I'll definitely sit with people in a booth. There's a Noble Roman's nearby, a Pizza Hut (I won't put McDonalds...because I know certain people will be sick of it by then), and countless other places.
Leave comments/posts and discuss!

Don't know if anyone has posted this yet, so I thought I would! Here's the schedual of home games:
Friday August 20th v. Arlington
Friday September 3rd, v. Perry Meridian
Friday September 24th v. Martinsville Senior Night
Friday October 14th v. Decatur Central Homecoming every game starts at 7pm at South
Since there's only four home games I plan on attending them all. Plus, Kendra would string me up by my toes if I don't. Hey! It's Molly if you don't know who it is, the one who played up in the pit. One of the pit ladies.
I'm up to meeting people before games if they want. I'm especially up for dinner before hand!

Welcome, and who I am, even though you already know me.
Welcome everyone! Yes, I know, I am a geek. Some of us old band geeks never die (we just smell that way--thanks to multiple band camps). Feel free to talk about whatever you want in here! Introduce yourself, say what you are up to now (as if where you are going to school, or if you are still at South, or are a republican juggler who rides a unicycle to work). Feel free to discuss whatever you really want to. LIGHT IT UP! Current Mood: amused
